Academy Fire Protection, a national fire protection company, is seeking to hire Business Development Representatives to work out of our Teaneck, NJ office. The hired individuals will focus their attention on driving our national business for our products and services which are required by law.

Role/Responsibility:
Manages and develops assigned territory (approximately 10-15 states) and assists in other territories as needed
Identifies and assists in developing strategic relationships with potential clients. Will work with existing clients as needed/requested
Works to develop a strong pipeline through direct and/or indirect client contact and prospecting such as (but not limited to):
Cold Calling
General Mailings
Email Communication
Trade Shows
Networking events
Works with management, marketing and sales teams to implement sales initiatives
Travels for client meetings/trainings
Performs other job functions as requested/required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business or marketing (4 years sales experience will also be accepted)
2-5 years of experience
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
Computer skills
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Experience with phone sales
Creativity and latitude is required
Ability to travel when needed
Fire protection experience is not necessary as training will be provided, but is helpful.

You will lead both long and short term continuous improvement projects across the company. Work with managing projects and act as a change agent including responsibility for the sharing of best practices. Develop requirements: effectively communicate with the C.E.O., President and Director of Operations to establish operational improvement requirements related to business objectives. The requirements should focus on cross operations needs and the associated functionality, reliability, scalability, and value of the tools, processes and training.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree preferred or 10+ Years of Business Experience in Related Field

Identify opportunities, prioritize projects and allocate operational improvement resources.
Conduct diagnostics and opportunities and institute plans and see the project through fruition.

Facilitate cross operations team needs and expertise areas to prioritize projects and allocate resources.
Using diagnostic tools and working with embedded operational improvement resources, assess project opportunities and prioritize project solutions and resources.

Act as a liaison with vendors and dispatchers when required
Visit clients when needed to support operational organization
Work with President on Open Tickets and Customer Satisfaction Issues
Communicate with customers on a daily basis regarding work orders, complaints, disputes, and emergency issues to ensure customer satisfaction, and build their trust and faith in Academy Fire Protection that their needs are being addressed and taken care of with the proper attention.
Relay customer requirements/issues/satisfaction issues/problems to dispatchers and management depending on severity and make recommendations or offer solutions to problems at hand.
Resolve customer satisfaction issues whether it be pertaining to service, price, or other outside factors such as not following customer procedures, or technician issues at customer locations.
Relay customer process changes, and make recommendations on how to work with or around customer procedures.
Make recommendations to customers on how to address problems we are unable to assist with, or are required to handle themselves, as well as suggesting or initiating processes AFP wishes to implement to be more accurate and cost effective.
Communicate between departments on services being performed, problems with work orders (I.e. billing issues that need higher NTE’s and quotes are required to be submitted), and assist with work order completion.
Assist dispatchers acquire additional information needed to expedite and complete PM and service requests from corporate contacts, store personnel, and vendors (as needed).
Communicate with departments on work orders to receive accurate and appropriate information to submit and advise our customers with.
Follow up and escalate aging and urgent matters to reduce turn around and delays in providing an update to our customers.
Maintain and update customer 3rd party software to reflect work order statuses, provide accurate information our clients need to know, submit and follow up on proposals.
Audit 3rd party software to ensure customers are being invoiced in a proper fashion and that Academy Fire Protection receives payment for services performed.
Provide innovative ideas and recommendations for customers and AFP to increase efficiency of service, process, and communication.
Assist Operations with integration of processes from our software to 3rd party and vice versa.

Academy Fire Protection, a national fire protection service company, is seeking to hire four (4) local sales representatives to work in our Teaneck, NJ office. Applicants MUST HAVE business to business sales experience. Technical training on fire protection will be provided once you are hired.
We offer protected territories and rapid growth. We pay a modest salary with high points on repeat service accounts. Our company’s service trucks cover all areas of New Jersey and we offer our clients first-class, award-winning service.

Business is obtained by cold-calling, both in person and on the phone. Trade shows, conferences and other networking events are also a great source of revenue potential. Most of the clients you bring in will require service either once or twice per year. Please note that it is required by NJ fire code for businesses to use a licensed company to service their equipment.
